Certain functionality in Salesforce has the potential to be affected when a Salesforce User is deactivated.
This includes…
-
- Process Builder cannot update records owned by a deactivated user
-
- Manual sharing rules that explicitly specify the deactivated user are removed
-
- Chatter Following and Follower lists are removed (though these can be reinstated when the user is subsequently activated)
-
- Removed from territories that were assigned to them in Enterprise Territory Management
-
- Account Team access changed to Read Only
A full list of considerations to make when deactivating a user in Salesforce is shown on Salesforce’s help page: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.users_deactivate_considerations.htm&type=5
