Skuser includes three types of license
-
- Skuser™ Administrator Licenses – the license that us used by the System Administrator to administer the Skuser app
-
- Skuser™ User Licenses – allocated by the System Administrator to Salesforce User records to allow them to work in Skuser.
-
- Skuser™ User Pool Licenses – consumed when a System Administrator creates an User Pool to define a group of Salesforce Users that may time-share one or more Salesforce Licenses.
Upon installation, Skuser includes 1 Administrator License, 2 User Licenses and 1 Activation Pool License.
The Administrator License is technically the same as a User License but as the Administrator cannot take part in the activation/deactivation process, we consider them to be separate.
Licensing Example 1 (simple)
-
- You have 45 Salesforce Licenses but 50 people who need to access Salesforce
-
- 1 of these licenses is used by the Accounts Team, but there are 6 individuals in the Accounts Team
-
- You would like the Accounts Team to time-share 1 Salesforce License
-
- You need 6 Skuser User Licenses – one for each member of the Accounts Team
-
- You need 1 Skuser User Pool License as it is only the Accounts Team that will be time-sharing a Salesforce License.
Licensing Example 2 (multiple teams)
-
- You have budget for 60 Salesforce Licenses but have a team of 110 people
-
- There are 50 people in your Sales Team: 20 permanent, full-time members and 30 temporary, part-time members. You would like this team to share 40 Salesforce Licenses.
-
- There are 60 people in your Service Team who operate an 8-hour shift-pattern of 20 active users working on a 24/7 basis. You need each member of the service team on shift to have a Salesforce License.
-
- You need to ensure that your 60 Salesforce Licenses are not all consumed by either team, so need to define 2 User Pools.
-
- 2 Skuser™ User Pool Licenses will allow you to create 2 User Pools – one for the ‘Part-time’ Sales Team members, the other for the Service Team members.
-
- 30 Skuser™ User Licenses are required for the Sales Team – one for each of the temporary part-time members (the permanent, full-time members of the Sales Team will not be using Skuser).
-
- To ensure that the Sales Team do not consume more than 40 Salesforce Licenses, the ‘Part-Time Sales’ User Pool needs a ‘Max Active’ value of 20, so that no more than 20 of the 30 temporary, part-time Sales Team members are active at any point in time. (20/20 Full-Time + 20/30 Part-Time)
-
- 30 Skuser™ User Licenses are required for the Sales Team – one for each of the temporary part-time members (the permanent, full-time members of the Sales Team will not be using Skuser).
-
- 60 Skuser™ User Licenses are required for the Service Team – one for each of the shift-workers.
-
- The Service Team User Pool needs ‘Max Active’ to be set to 20, so that no more than 20 users are active at any point in time. (20/60 Service Team)
-
- 60 Skuser™ User Licenses are required for the Service Team – one for each of the shift-workers.
To allow 110 Salesforce Users to share 60 Salesforce Licenses, in addition to the Skuser Administrator License, you need
-
- 2 Skuser™ User Pool Licenses
- 90 Skuser™ User Licenses (30 for the Part-Time Sales Team, 60 for the Service Team)
